IN THE COMMUNITY

The INACCA is proud to partner with the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP), Citizens Energy Group and the Indianapolis Fire Department to ensure that low-income Marion County families are able to stay warm during the winter through the Indianapolis Bring the Heat program.

Each year, dozens of ACC professionals from multiple Indianapolis-area companies will inspect, clean and service furnaces for low-income Marion County homeowners at no cost during this day-long blitz. Technicians will check and replace furnace filters, make sure burners and igniters function properly, check heat exchangers, and inspect the overall system. Units that are beyond repair will be replaced at no charge.

The INACCA and INHP created the Bring the Heat event 20 years ago to raise awareness for the life-saving importance of proper furnace maintenance and to ensure that homeowners on fixed incomes have adequate and safe heating in their homes.

Over the past five years, nearly 1,200 furnaces have been cleaned, more than 30 furnaces have been replaced for free, and nearly 85 furnaces were repaired at no cost to the homeowner.
